Ape School has a new album, Junior Violence, coming out on August 7th on Hometapes. Ape School is the work of Michael Johnson, formerly of Lilys and Holopaw, and also features Dr. Dog drummer Eric Slick. “Marijuana’s On The Phone” captures a sweet T. Rex/Todd Rundgren/Syd Barrett psychedelic pop vibe; “Beneficiary (Don’t Blame Me)” is a delicious syrupy, reverbed piano based slice of dreamy pop.
