Full Blown Cherry, Void Vision celebrate David Lynch’s “Eraserhead” tonight at PhilaMOCA

The oft-maligned area of Philadelphia surrounding Ridge and Spring Garden — immortalized in David Lynch’s surrealist debut feature Eraserhead — is again in the spotlight. Tombstone-factory-turned-DIY-space PhilaMOCA has curated an exhibition celebrating Lynch’s film, as well as the neighborhood (known now as Eraserhood) in which he filmed which inspired it. The gallery opens at 6 for viewing of Jack Nance-inspired art, followed at 8:30 by performances from Philly rockabillies Full Blown Cherry, and solo electronic artist Void Vision. The night will also feature comedy acts from local troupes Secret Pants and Camp Woods. Add to that bill Lynch-themed burlesque and free refreshments from Naragansett and Red Bull and you’ve got a night to remember. Exhibition opens at 6, performances at 8:30 at PhilaMOCA; admission is $10, all-ages. More information on the event can be found on the Facebook event page.
