XPoNential Fest: Patterson Hood brings a taste of the south to the River Stage (photos, audio, setlist)
Patterson Hood, the guitarist, bass player, and front-man of Drive-By Truckers, played a solo set at XPoNential’s River Stage this afternoon with his band, the Downtown Rumblers. The alt-country musician brought a taste of the south to Camden with his southern drawl and warm acoustic songs. The singer was chatty with the crowd as he talked about how he and his band drove all night from Winston-Salem, North Carolina to make it to XPo. Hood explained the meaning behind his song “Leaving Time” from his upcoming album Heat Lightning Rumbles In The Distance, which comes out September 11th. The song is a personal ballad about the self-described “dark days” before he has to leave home to go on the road. Check out a photo gallery above, and the setlist below.
