Spotlight on the This Is Hardcore afterparties featuring Night Birds, Blacklisted, Ringworm, and more.
If this week (and weekend)’s slated events leave you wanting for more thrashing, screaming, and sewing-on-of-Black-Flag-patches, look no further than these fantastic DIY-hosted afterparties, curated especially for This Is Hardcore fest.
Tonight, head on over to Goldilocks Gallery at 7th and Chestnut Streets (above Morimoto) to carry on a night of righteous punk rock. Headlining are Jersey/Brooklyn surf-punk outfit Night Birds, joined by hardcore DC dudes Give, Baltimore’s Peace, and local rockers Dopestroke. Show starts at 8, and admission is 10 bucks at the door for all ages. There’s more info on the Facebook event page. In the meantime, stream “The Other Side of Darkness” from Night Bird’s last LP below.
Also be sure to hit up PhilaMOCA tomorrow and Saturday for more afterparty rocking. Friday we’ve got sets from thrash-rock band Ringworm, Philly screamers Salvation, Belgian goth-rockers Oathbreaker, and straight-edge Pennsylvanians Pegasus (more info about this show here). And come back Saturday for another heartpounding night with Blacklisted (performing their album “Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God” in it’s entirety), Cali boys Nails and Skin Like Iron, plus Portland punks Murderess. See info for this show here. Both nights start at 8 with $10 admission for all ages.
Below, watch Blacklisted perform “Tourist” and “Circuit Breaker” live in Edison, NJ.
