PhilaMOCA announces 12th Street Art and Music Festival on 9/22 feat. The Love Club, Thom McCarthy and more
Most people who visit the Philadelphia arts and music space PhilaMOCA quickly learn that the building used to be Mad Decent HQ, as well as ground zero for the early Mad Decent Block Parties. (The MD logo embossed in the cement on the stoop is a quick clue.) Today, the current tenants announced their own spin on the block party / concert showcase by announcing The 12th Street Art and Music Festival, set to bring a dozen or so bands and DJs to their street on Saturday, September 22. Bands will perform at 12th and Spring Garden, by the venue; DJs will spin on the other end of the block, in front of The Institute Bar at 12th and Brandywine. Scheduled to appear are singer-songwriter Thom McCarthy, power blues trio The Love Club (plus a solo set by TLC’s front-guy Mitch Esparza, aka ((Taco))). Also on the lineup are S.T.A.R.W.O.O.D., Post Sun Times and SKGB, plus DJ’s Lara, Lady Prowl and Achievement.
