The 2012 Knight Arts Challenge kicked off this week, and applications are being accepted through October 15 for project ideas that will enrich the city’s arts scene. The program, now in its third year, is funded by The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, which will invest $9 million in “the best and most innovative ideas out of local organizations and individuals seeking to transform the community through the arts.” From the website:

Whether you’re an independent artist, business, established arts institution, organization or individual – we want to hear from you.

No idea is too large or too small, as long as it follows three basic rules:

Your idea is about arts.
Your project takes place in or benefits Philadelphia.
You find other funding to match Knight Foundation’s grant.

In 2011, WXPN was a recipient of a Knight Arts Challenge grant to fund the Key Studio Sessions video series. Got a great idea for a music project for WXPN? Share it with us by leaving your idea below or e-mailing it to [email protected]!
