Vintage rock-and-roll noisemakers Low Cut Connie have a couple reasons to celebrate this December. One, it’s the holidays; two, their crazy infectious single “Boozophilia” ranked #31 in Rolling Stone‘s top 50 songs of 2012. Of it, the mag says “You can practically smell the Yuengling coming off this skunky, slippery ode to lowbrow kicks from Philly to the South Side of Chicago.” (Cute regional reference there, Rolling Stone, but PBC Kenzinger surpassed Yeungling Lager as the beverage of the common rock and roll Philadelphian some time ago. PBR and Natty Boh probably also rank higher at this point too – but the effort is appreciated!) Beer chatter aside, we’re most psyched that Low Cut Connie continues getting recognition at a national level – and we’re sure their celebratory holiday performance at The North Star Bar on December 21 will be a rousing, rowdy good time. The band plays with Alex Vans and the Pretty Greens, tickets and more information on the 21+ show can be found here. Below, watch a video of the last time Low Cut Connie was at the North Star Bar- the time it shot the “Boozophilia” video.
