Thurston Moore returns with Chelsea Light Moving (playing Union Transfer on 4/3)
Chelsea Light Moving will be making their Philadelphia debut at Union Transfer on Wednesday, April 3. Led by guitar master and Sonic Youth founding-member Thurston Moore, the New York-based band evolved out of Moore’s 2011 solo project and features violinist Samara Lubelski, drummer John Moloney and guitarist Keith Wood. The quartet announced this week that their first record will be released through Matador on March 5. Tickets for the all-ages show go on sale today at 12:00 p.m. EST; more information can be found here. Below, watch Chelsea Light Moving perform “Groovy & Linda” (you’ll also get a sense of Moore’s affinity for educational banter) and download four free tracks here. If you missed it, check out a photo recap of Moore’s sold-out show at Space 1026 from last month here.
