Download “Good Lookin Out” from Kurt Vile’s Hunchback EP (reissue out today)
Kurt Vile’s Hunchback EP is getting the reissue treatment today via Richie Records / TestosterTunes, the label run by Philly writer and musician Richie Charles that originally released the EP in 2009. Falling between his buzz-making Constant Hitmaker LP and the breakout Childish Prodigy, it’s a snapshot of the artist well on his way – a louder and more developed psych rock sound than we heard on the early recordings (it was right around when Vile rounded up the Violators as his live band), but still raw and rough ’round the edges. The vinyl version of the reissue comes with half a dozen live tracks recorded at The Earl in Atlanta on August 7, 2011 – the final show with the Violators “classic” lineup, before Adam Granduciel got kinda busy with The War on Drugs. Download “Good Lookin Out” from the EP below, and stream a live version of the title track at Pitchfork.
