Fall in love with Rhye and their new video for “Open” (playing World Cafe Live on 4/20)
As you get those Valentine’s Day mixes ready, don’t let this one slip through the cracks. The formerly-anonymous duo of Rhye, now known to be a recording collaboration between Mike Milosh and Robin Hannibal, released the quietly seductive track “Open” about a year ago and have been riding the blogging buzz ever since. In this week’s new video for the love song we follow a young couple to a secluded beach house for a cold-weather getaway. And with a cameo by characters from the video for “The Fall” (their second 2012 single) we get a broader narrative of the love-filled microcosm that Rhye have swiftly pulled their listening audience into.
With a new LP on the way titled Woman (out in the U.S. on March 5th through Loma Vista), the bi-national indie R&B partnership has announced a run of North American tour dates that brings them to World Cafe Live Upstairs on April 20th. Tickets go sale this Friday, February 8th. More information can be found here. Below, check out the new video “Open” and download it via The Fader here.
