Pissed Jeans skewers QVC in a darkly comedic music video for “Bathroom Laughter” (playing Underground Arts on 2/15)
This is hysterical and more than a little gruesome – Philly punks Pissed Jeans, whose awesome new record Honeys is in stores today, just released a music video for the single “Bathroom Laughter” that skewers QVC (and cable television in general).
Directed by Joe Stakun (a Philly / LA filmmaker who directed videos for Modest Mouse and Future Islands) and starring The Office‘s Mark Proksch, the video follows a couch potato watching a infomercial for an oven that goes horribly wrong. It’s slapstick and ends rather darkly, but moves at a lively enough pace (which, with this song, it kind of has to) that you get that it’s all in good fun. Imagine the Three Stooges, with more blood. Also be on the lookout for cameos from the band – singer Matt Korvette makes an awesome weatherman.
Pissed Jeans plays Underground Arts this Friday, February 15 – read Brian Wilensky’s interview with drummer Sean McGuinness (sorting trash bags, above) here, and enter to win tickets to the show here.
