Heyward Howkins went out to the Kettle Pot Tracks studio in Lafayette Hill recently to record an On the Hill session.  In anticipation of the local singer-songwriter’s sophomore LP Cut & Corral, Howkins performed “Flimsy Stock” and “Be Frank Furness” in the intimate setting and answered a short Q&A in which we learn that the record will be produced at Hi5 Studios by Ben Reisman and Howkins himself before heading out to Quentin Stoltzfus (Light Heat, Mazarin) for final mixing.  Heyward Howkins will perform at Old City Coffee with Joey Sweeney this Thursday, March 21st (information here) and at PhilaMOCA for March 26th’s Tuesday Tune-Out (information here).  Below, watch the video for “Flimsy Stock” and download an iPhone demo of the track here.
