Californians Allah-Las appeared on NPR’s World Cafe just a few weeks ago, chatting with host David Dye about their beginnings at famed Los Angeles music emporium Amoeba Records and playing a trio of songs from their 2012 self-titled debut, released through LA label Innovative Leisure.  Keeping with the California theme, the laidback, country-tinged album was produced by fellow statesman and World Cafe favorite Nick Waterhouse.  Listen back to Allah-Las’ World Cafe session here and watch a live video of “Tell Me (What’s On Your Mind)” from their October 2012 show at Johnny Brenda’s.  Allah-Las return to Philadelphia on Sunday, April 7th for a show at Union Transfer with The Black Angels and Elephant Stone; tickets and information for the all-ages show can be found here.
