Listen to Psalmships’ cover of Damien Jurado’s “Fuel” (playing The Mermaid Inn on 7/31, Random Tea Room on 8/1)

Local singer-songwriter Joshua Britton has recorded a new cover of Damien Jurado’s “Fuel” off of the Seattle musician’s On My Way to Absence.  As Psalmships, Britton’s version reflects the quiet confessional style of the original but pulls back on the guitar melody.  It’s a pleasant addition to Psalmships’ catalog of covers, which includes a reworking of Josh Tillman’s “Before We Retire.”  Britton will be performing at The Mermaid Inn on July 31st and at the Random Tea Room and Curiosity Shop for a Folkadelphia show on August 1st.  More information can be found here.  Stream “Fuel” below.
