Check a sparse new music video from The Flaming Lips (playing Festival Pier in the fall)

Back in April, The Flaming Lips released their latest album, Terror; more recently, they announced a tour in support of it along with Australian psych-rockers Tame Impala.  The tour doesn’t start till the fall, but this week The Flaming Lips released a video for the song “Turning Violent” off the album.  The song is thread-bare until the last minute, featuring little more than a pulsating, bassy synthesizer and falsetto vocals before rocketing into space in typical Flaming Lips fashion.  The video is equally sparse, showing the band standing under several giant tin-foil orbs with occasional clips of some strange ritual occurring off-stage.  Check it out below and catch the group on tour at Festival Pier October 3rd.
