Download live performances by Ruin on WXPN and St. Mary’s Church (playing Union Transfer 8/31)
Some of you longtime Philly music fans may have heard the news that the legendary Philly hardcore group Ruin are playing a show at Union Transfer on Saturday, August 31st. We’re seriously excited about the show, as it will bring together the original members, with “special guests,” and DJ Bobby Startup will be spinning. (request: please play some Executive Slacks and She Male Encounters).
While we were searching the interwebs about one of our all time favorite Philly bands, we stumbled upon this: Ruin Live from St. Mary’s and WXPN. It’s from the always excellent Freedom Has No Bounds music blog. You can sample one song below, but we highly recommend you go here and download both the St. Mary’s set and the set recorded at WXPN. Below, watch a video with an explosive performance by the band and an interview of the members by Mel Toxic and the late, great Lee Paris. Go here to read a terrific recent interview with founding members Glenn Wallis (guitar) and Cordy Swope (bass) from Seymour Magazine.
