Watch Basia Bulat perform “It Can’t Be You” in black and white (playing Boot & Saddle on 11/20)

Basia Bulat recently released a video for her single “It Can’t Be You” in anticipation for her upcoming album, Tall Tall Shadow, due out on October 1st. Watch as the rising folk-singer plays her acoustic piece in black and white in the Art Gallery of Ontario. The performance was a commissioned collaboration between Bulat and visual artist Stephanie Comilang, which inspired the artwork behind the album. “We played with the idea of what a stage should be, and what people’s expectations of performance might be, especially within the context of an art gallery,” Bulat tells Paste Magazine in an interview.
