Brazilian Jazz inspired group Ensemble Novo performs at Time 10/16
Brazilian-Jazz septet Ensemble Novo will be soothing ears and warming souls at Time in Philadelphia on Wednesday, October 16th. Ensemble Novo is the brainchild of New York Times bestselling author and former Philadelphia Inquirer music critic Tom Moon, who also plays saxophone for the group. Hot on the heels of the band’s Time performance is the fresh focal track “Berimbau,” an upbeat, smooth piece featuring Moon’s signature rich sax lines with intermittent xylophone sections.
Ensemble Novo is known for creating warm, spacious atmospheres, with a perfect-for-chilling sound. The group’s debut album, Blue Night, was produced at Philly’s own Turtle Studios and released back in July. Be sure to check out the samba meets bossa nova meets jazz ensemble at Time next week, and enjoy a night of gorgeous melodies and gentle sounds.
