Listen to Khari Mateen’s new EP Qualia and watch a video for “Slow Fall”

Local multi-instrumentalist / producer Khari Mateen has released his latest EP Qualia: Fall, following up his recent “Where Did They Go” single.  The Grammy nominated artist grounded the project in his relationship with the autumn season, exploring its notions of change and new beginnings and applying them to themes including love and war.  From Mateen:

This fall marks the beginning of something I have been wanting to do since my last record “Wait for Sunrise”. Using artistic mediums and collaborations with many thinkers, explorers, musicians, life enthusiasts, and people that want to be around expression and conversation; comes a collection titled “Qualia”. I chose to stylize the music in the first release, “Qualia: Fall” with references to Blues, Folk, Rock, Soul and classic R&B music. I imagined the music listened to with friends that understand you, maybe even helped you off the floor once or twice.
