Dynamic electronic beat-makers Instamatic perform at Kung Fu Necktie tonight
Hometown electro dance-pop group Instamatic bring “brainy beats” and cutting synth hooks to Kung Fu Necktie tonight.
Their recent three-track EP Things Went Black features heavy, beat-centric hooks that manage to merge stylistic elements of new-wave with percussion-infused classic electronic overtones. It’s dark, yet upbeat, and one can imagine dancing into the wee hours of the morning in a window-less club somewhere. Spawned from Philadelphia DJ / production duo Crimp Yr Hair, Instamatic members pride themselves on performing with real (hand-made) instruments in order to produce their high energy, galactic sound.
The band plays Kung Fu Necktie tonight, opening for The Deer Tracks; information on the show can be found here. Listen to Things Went Black below.
