It looks as if He Is Legend’s “Dicephalous” (definition: having two heads) now has a second head of its own, in the form of a cover brought to you by Reggie and the Full Effect. It’s a hard rock song from He Is Legend’s 2009 album It Hates You, and it talks about knowing someone’s true nature despite the elaborate facade they use to deceive others: “you’ve got everybody else fooled, but we know who you are.”

Reggie and the Full Effect (aka James Dewees of The Get Up Kids) completely deconstructs the song and transforms it into a sinister piano-driven affair with muffled vocals that echo. Both versions deliver the song’s message but this one does it in a more subtle, creeping-up-over-your-shoulder-but-you-like-it way. Get tickets to Reggie and the Full Effect show at The Barbary on January 16th here and listen to both songs below. Reggie’s new album No Country for Old Musicians is out now via Pure Noise Records.
