The Speakers release The Saddest Quo; watch the video for the title track

Philadelphia / Portland based duo The Speakers celebrated the release of their album The Saddest Quo last week (that’s the artwork above).  The intricate and beautiful record follows up 2005’s concept album Yeats is Greats, a collection of songs that incorporated Yeats’s poetry in the lyrics.  Grade school friends Brian Miller and Peter Musselman tug on all of the heart strings with their quiet compositions on The Saddest Quo‘s title track, which accents a repeated guitar and piano melody with hints of horns and a comforting organ.  Purchase The Saddest Quo here and watch the soothing video below.
