Night Beds has released a new song through Pitchfork called “Head for the Hills.” Winston Yellen’s dreamy Americana is as beautiful as ever on the first follow-up to last year’s standout Country Sleep debut, with swirls of strings and guitars buoying the Colorado native’s emotive vocals. At times the song recalls a male version of Daughter’s Elena Tonra in its self-awareness and vulnerability, though the arrangements on “Head for the Hills” breath a sense of adventure and things-to-come into the track that plays into Yellen’s time spent in Colorado and Nashville. XPN welcomes Night Beds with Lord Huron to The TLA on February 8th; tickets are sold out.
