Download Gretchen Lohse’s cover of “Walking in the Air” from The Snowman
One of the highlights of last month’s Philebrity Awards ceremony was seeing Gretchen Lohse and her band cover “Walking in the Air,” a song from Raymond Briggs’ 1982 animated short The Snowman. Backed by players including Thomas Hughes from The Spinto Band and Brian Langan of Langor, Lohse performed the song synced to footage from the film, and its dream-like visuals combined the band’s sweeping, ethereal tones created some serious magic on the Johnny Brenda’s stage. Now, for today’s snow day, Lohse has made the song available as a free download from her Bandcamp page. Listen below, and check out the original while you’re at it.
