Exploring the nature of love in Kwesi K’s new video for “Pronouns”
This weekend, local singer-songwriter Kwesi K premiered a video for the title track of his new EP called Prounouns over at Impose Magazine. The clip follows a character daydreaming about a woman she has feelings for while getting ready for a house party. But are the feelings mutual? It’s unsure when the woman arrives at the party.
As Kwesi K’s suave vocals and subtle instrumentation builds to a hooky horn passage, themes of relationships, private vs. public life and self confidence are played out in a true-to-life scenario. As Impose put it:
Everything represented in the video thrives on an inclusive nature of close bonds, extended from the bedrooms, the packed house pizza parties, dance floor delights and swimming pool diving sessions. The message here is that love is universal, love is blind, and should be cherished, and always kind.
