Last Friday pop powerhouse Ellie Goulding took the stage at Temple University arena The Liacouras Center, putting on a spectacle for this sold out crowd with a high energy performance, killer dance moves and eye-catching light show. She hit the stage in a rhinestone hoodie, which was later tossed aside to reveal an elaborate geometric top, and broke up her set by playing drum interludes between her songs, even goinginto a James Blake cover at one point.

A particularly dedicated Ellie Goulding fan made what looked like 100 paper hearts, and distributed them to first few rows of audience members. The crowd then held up these hearts during Goulding’s Elton John cover, “Your Song”. The effect was truly amazing. Fan participation was definitely at a premium this night, at one point during her performance of “Guns and Horses” Goulding dropped out completely and fans picked up the lyrics at full volume.

Ellie ended her performance with her most popular singles – “Lights”, “Anything Can Happen” and “Burn.” This was the most high-energy part of the night.  Everyone was off their feet singing and dancing. It was a great way to end a great show. The concert was opened by up-and-coming electro-pop artist Conway, who brought the energy and a really awesome leather jumpsuit.
