Thru the Years With Jenny Lewis: Check out Philadelphia highlights from an #xpnfest headliner
Singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis is one of this year’s headliners at the XPoNential Music Festival, and she brings with her a hint of new material – the bubbly single “Completely Not Me,” which appeared on the Girls soundtrack back in January. (Listen to the song here via YouTube, and practice the singalong parts.)
It’s great to get a hint of the direction Ms. Lewis with her next release – whenever it comes out, and whether it be a solo record or another collaboration a la Jenny and Jonny, or something else entirely. But Philadelphia fans know, Lewis has a long history in this city. Her band Rilo Kiley made its way from the First Unitarian Church basement on tour behind The Execution of All Things in 2003 to the band’s final Philadelphia show at the Electric Factory in 2008. Lewis played solo on numerous occasions, from the TLA in 2006 in support of Rabbit Fur Coat to The Keswick in 2008 in support of Acid Tongue, a Jenny and Jonny show at The Troc supporting Superchunk, and with the reunited Postal Service in 2013.
Below, check out video highlights from Lewis’ Philadelphia stops over the years. Tickets for Jenny Lewis’ appearance at the XPoNential Music Festival are available here via LiveNation.
