Cheerleader’s new single “Waiting, Waiting” is another sweet psych-pop odyssey
Philadelphia newcomers Cheerleader continue with their buzz-building song-at-once route by releasing the new “Waiting, Waiting” to the internet airwaves this week. It’s classically psychedelic and super reminiscent of The Beatles’ “Baby You’re A Rich Man” (or perhaps Cornershop’s “6 A.M. Jullandar Shere”) – a raga-influenced dreamscape on the verses, an exuberant pop anthem on the refrains. The track is the b-side to their new “Perfect Vision” single – check the a-side out in Kate Bracaglia’s interview with the band, and pick up a copy digitally now (it will also be released digitally and on 7″ vinyl on June 16th via Young and Lost / Bright Antenna Records). The band headlines Boot and Saddle on June 7th; tickets and information on the show can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
