Non-COMM Recap: Those Darlins loosen up the crowd for night two
Dan Reed opened night two of the 14th annual Non-COMMvention by saying this evening would be dedicated to keeping the rock alive. He then brought Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Ian McLaglan to the stage to introduce the first band, Nashville four-piece Those Darlins. Playing songs off of their latest Blur the Line LP and one cut from 2009’s self-titled effort, the outfit showed off their multi-dimensional rock sound by jumping between alt-country-, grunge- and surf-inspired songs before ending with the attitude-heavy and confident “That Man.” They were comfortable and clearly having fun on stage, letting their songs break the ice with the audience and loosen everyone up.
