After playing Day 3 of WXPN’s Non-COMM, Hamilton Leithauser is getting ready to his debut album, Black Hours, on June 3rd. Soon after, he’s headlining the Prince Music Theater June 12. One of the first tracks to be released from the album, “I Retired,” features Leithauser singing to a slow doo-wop shuffle alongside Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire weekend (who also sang backup, played additional instruments and produced the track). The slide guitar in the beginning makes you feel like you’re sitting on a porch in the deep south in the late 1940s, drinking moonshine and listening your neighbor jam out on a Dobro. Experience that feeling below, and get more information on Leithauser’s show at The Prince here.
