XPNFest Recap: Diego Garcia plays to a swooning crowd on the Marina Stage

Diego Garcia reprised his 2012 festival appearance with a stripped down set on the Marina Stage. The New York musician performed intimate songs from 2011’s solo debut Laura and last year’s follow-up Paradise. Interspersing some colorful stories about the songs and events in his life over the last several years, Garcia was his usual charming self up on stage.
The set was a relaxing conversation between Garcia and the crowd – he treated the Marina Stage as if it were a living room filled with only his closest friends, recounting eventful nights with George Harrison and Ravi Shankar, delving into the heartache and hope that spawned Laura, and talking about the better times he’s experiencing now with his family. Joined by his talented Argentinian guitarist, Garcia took the lush, full-band songs on his album and paired them down for an intimate afternoon. Check out photos and the setlist below and listen back to the full audio here (via the WXPN media player).
