Enjoy an eclectic evening with Lil Sean at PhilaMOCA August 30th
The always interesting PhilaMOCA has announced its latest celebration, Lil Sean Day, held August 30th. The event is curated exclusively by its namesake, the Eraserhood venue’s 12-year-old neighbor: a reported connoisseur of art, film and music. Last year, Lil Sean performed at PhilaMOCA’s Mausoleum Pizza Party. He also released his first two songs on Bandcamp in late July.
The day starts off with a live performance by Pat Finnerty, a Scranton based comedian and musician. His summer song, “Reggae Dog” is a favorite of Lil Sean. Next, there will be the unveiling of a new mural, courtesy of Karli Cox. Afterwards, there will be a viewing of Undercover Cops, Lil Sean’s debut as a writer, director and actor. The film has been billed as Training Day written by a 12 year old and starring interns and volunteers of PhilaMOCA.
Closing the night out is a stellar list of local psych and punk bands. First off is Philly fuzzy punk group Mumblr who released their latest album Band Bang last year. Up next is the fantasy-pop Langor, the side project of Brian Langan. Lagan also plays in the 80’s revival Sweatheart and the psychedelic Needle Points. The night is rounded out by performances from psych rock artist, Erik Paluszak aka Velvet Crayon, and surf punk group Pushin’ it 2 the Limit.
