South Jersey lo-fi band The Only Ghost in Town just released their first in a series of Porch Session videos – where, you guessed it, the band plays acoustically on their front porch. In April, the group released a goofy video for “Half Speed” from its False Color Images LP, which came out in May via Broken World Media. The album was a follow up to 2012’s rocking All the Stars are for You EP.

For its Porch Session, the group performed “Solar Flares”, the first track off of False Color Images. The album version of “Solar Flares” is a powerful start to the album. The short duration of the song is perfect because it leaves the audience longing for something more, which is exactly what the song is about. The stripped down version really builds on that emotional context, with its rhythmic guitars and hushed vocals. The video is a part of a four week series, where the band will release a new acoustic song from the session every Monday. Check out the video below.
