Little Big League signs to Run For Cover Records; new LP due by year’s end
Happy news from Philly’s Little Big League: the Philly indierock four-piece just inked a deal with the Boston-based Run For Cover Records, also home to local and regional DIY scene faves Koji, Tigers Jaw, Young Statues and more.
From the label’s announcement, they seem pretty dang psyched about the news:
Bridging the gap between 90′s college radio, mid-period Saddle Creek, and many of their Philly indie peers, Little Big League fuse angular, guitar driven songs with Michelle Zauner’s dynamic voice and sharp lyrics, creating some incredibly infectious music. Little Big League also released one of our favorite music videos in recent memory for last years single “My Very Own You.”
Frontwoman Michelle Zauner tells us the band will release its second LP – following up 2013’s righteous These Are Good People, released on Tiny Engines – with RFCR by the end of this year. “We were really happy with tiny engines and love that family,” Zauner tells us. “But we’re excited for new opportunities and a new family with RFC.”
Below, give a listen to Little Big League’s “Year of the Sunhouse,” from their awesome split 7″ with Ovlov, released on Tiny Engines earlier this summer.
