Listen to The Lawsuits’ love ballad on “Sweet Marcelle”
Fresh from their phenomenal XPoNential Festival performance, The Lawsuits just released their newest song, “Sweet Marcelle” from their forthcoming EP Tumbled out September 23rd. The EP follows the release of last year’s debut LP Cool Cool Cool and is the first album the band will put out with the new American Diamond Recordings. The new song carries the same positive rock and roll vibe from Cool Cool Cool.
“Sweet Marcelle” is a breezy but powerful ballad, a perfect example of the quintet’s signature bluesy rock and roll sound. The song is at the same time sweet, ephemeral and slightly haunted. In their session with Paste Magazine, lead singer Brian Dale Allen Strouse summed up perfectly when he described it as “evocative of a memory, a time and place far enough in your past you’re not sure if it’s real, but close enough that you can still feel it.”
Catch The Lawsuits, along with Mo Lowda and the Humble and Our Griffins for their free show at MilkBoy Philly. Get more details about the show at the XPN Concert Calendar. Listen to “Sweet Marcelle” from Tumbled below.
