This week Philadelphia (via South Jersey) indie rockers Young Statues released a song off their upcoming sophomore LP, The Flatlands Are Your Friend, which follows their last EP Age Isn’t Ours released last year. “Run The River Dry” gives listeners a promising glimpse of what their new album might entail, jump-starting with heavy, hollow synths and quickly picking up with snippy drums and wandering, echoed guitar tones. By the time Carmen Cirignano’s vocals come into play, I’m hooked. The song – recorded during a two-week session in Athens, Georgia earlier this year – shows true craftsmanship, and you can pre-order the new album here (they even offer an exclusive deluxe package), or pick it up in person when the band plays its record release at Kung Fu Necktie on October 21st.
