Philly’s Riva Ridge charms us with her bittersweet new single “Slide”

Philly newcomer Riva Ridge recently put out her dazzling debut single “Slide.” With 80’s-esque back beats, twinkling guitars and soaring synths, Mel Riva, the woman behind it all, creates an ambiance all her own. The song has a sweet and charming electronic pop sound, but comes from a bittersweet place. In an email, Riva told us:

‘Slide’ was written after the loss of a loved one after a tragic accident.  Written and recorded over the past summer while in Tokyo, the song is about closing a chapter in order to start another.
