Free At Noon Flashback: Down-to-earth songsters Kindness unleash funky jams
Kindness jammed out and wowed the crowd at today’s Free At Noon concert. Displaying amazing musicianship, the UK band showcased its recently released album Otherness as well as a few throwbacks like “Gee Up” and “House.” Speckled with jaw-dropping solos from collaborators on saxophone, drum, and guitar and framed with powerful backup vocals, the music was funky and fun. Heavy 80s-esque basslines kept the energy lively and frontman Adam Bainbridge made light banter with the crowd, crediting Philadelphia as the birthplace for the project while working at the PIFAS collective a few years back. When a band so large and energetic takes the stage, its hard not to become wrapped up in what they are producing, especially with Bainbridge jigging around the stage while slapping a cowbell. You can listen to the performance in its entirety and see photos in the gallery below.
