Slingshot Dakota, Trophy Wife, +HIRS+ playing Two-Piece Fest 8 at PiLam
In its unique dedication to musicians who come in duos, Two-Piece Fest has announced the lineup for its eighth annual show. The daylong DIY-scene show was created by Philly natives Peter Helmis of Algernon Cadwallader and Craig Woods of Towers. They established TPF back in 2007 for their own two-person collaboration, Peter & Craig. This year’s show will take place on February 14th at Pilam in West Philly.
22 bands (or “44 beating hearts,” according to the Facebook event) will be playing the all-day event this year. The DIY festival will see some local and touring bands come through. Experimental hardcore two-piece Empty Vessels are coming down from Connecticut and middle school-aged brothers who make up punk rock-duo, Cat Jack, hail from DC. Some of the local acts are acoustic punk rock guys Corporate Hearts who put out their second full-length, The Shreds, this month and noise rock twosome Heavy Medical. Indie-punk pair Slingshot Dakota from Bethlehem are among the bigger names playing this year. The event starts at 2 p.m. on Valentine’s Day; admission is $10 and it’s an all-ages show. Below, check out the full lineup with music from each of the artists.
