Lame-O Records’ six band charity split for United Cerebral Palsy is more than halfway completed; Philly punk band Marietta marks the fourth track to be released Strength in Weakness thus far. The four-piece isn’t new to playing for charity, with the band performing at a low-key benefit show for Operation Help or Hush in December.
Marietta’s contribution to the split, “Old Joe,” streaming via Property of Zack, is loosely based off a graphic novel character (as explained in the band’s in-studio video below) and packs a punch of powerful yet mellow/emo vocals and sound that the band has perfected on tracks like “Deck Wine.”
