If things aren’t warming up fast enough for you here in Philadelphia, try not to think about how several local bands will be escaping to sunny Austin, TX and the SXSW festival later this month. Residuels is one of those lucky bands, and they’re gearing up for the showcase with the release a new song called “Valley of Fire.”

Premiered on the SXSW website, “Valley of Fire” is the first single released by the band since they debuted their newly-minted quartet set-up last fall. It’s a psych-rock piece with dark distortion and palpable potential energy that feels ready to burst at any second. Listen to the new track here and watch the previous two-piece line-up perform “Hurricane” at last year’s SXSW below.
