Mumblr plays tracks from Full Of Snakes for Sleepless Sound’s Red Room Series
The second round in Sleepless Sound Studio’s Red Room Series was just released and it features a set of tracks from Philly punks Mumblr. The series includes three songs from the band’s latest release Full Of Snakes.
Beginning with an intricate bassline by Sean Reilly, “White Devil,” relays singer/guitarist Nick Morrison’s narrative of his personal struggles with discrimination. Drummer Scott Stitzer played the set shirtless, which seems to be his signature for every performance; his energy is felt through hard snare hits in “Greyhound Station.” The band treats every performance like a party, but we also see Morrison’s more serious lyrical tendencies: “I watch you sell from the streets / But, when I’m alone with you, I feel so cheap.”
Mumblr will be playing at the Mile High House on May 9 with NJ’s Pinegrove, Brown Rainbow, and Scranton’s Old Charades; more information can be found at the show’s Facebook event page. You can watch the session for “White Devil” below and the rest of Mumblr’s sessions can be found on the Red Room Series website.
