Pablo Batista Latin Jazz Ensemble performs in Manayunk on 5/22

Pablo Batista is engrained in the Philadelphia jazz community. The percussionist is a Temple grad, a Pew Fellowship Award in Folk Art recipient and a former member of Grover Washington, Jr’s band. Though he’s toured and recorded with international musicians (Bono, Teddy Pendergrass, the Philadelphia Orchestra) Batista has continued his work in Philadelphia, teaching at the Latin American Musicians Association. On Friday, May 22nd Batista will perform with his own Latin Jazz Ensemble in Manayunk at the Venice Island Performing Arts Center. The event is co-sponsored by the Philadelphia Jazz Project.
