Fabian Akilles releases new music with video for “Profit”

After a quiet couple of years, Fabian Akilles will soon release a new record called Freedom No Control. This weekend the local artist gave fans a preview of what he’s been working on by premiering a music video for album single “Profit.” The song and video explore the roles of money and material goods in our world, opening with the line “Talk is cheap, time’s expensive / Cash rules everything around these fences.”

The clip, directed by Bob Sweeney and Fabian Akilles, follows two incarnations of Akilles around Kensington – the first takes the el, gets his instant coffee from Quick Stop and goes to work as a janitor at a Frankford Ave. salon while the second wears a leather jacket and sips a latte. It’s a poetic look at priorities and outcomes backed by a killer beat and hook. Check out the video below and stay tuned for more from Akilles.
