Local musician Pat Finnerty is finally bringing his rock musical The Lid to life. On September 4 through September 6, Pat and a cast of Philly music scene regulars will bring the show to Underground Arts as part of the Philly Fringe Festival presented by FringeArts. He will be assisted on stage by Brian Ashby (of Purples and The Teeth), Jess Conda and Ali Wadsworth, along with various other local musicians.

The Lid, written by Finnerty, is a story about a man named Lee (Finnerty), who leads a boring life, spending his days working for The Moustache Man (Ashby), until one day he uncovers a lid in a meadow. What Lee discovers under this lid can either lead him to a fun and exciting life or back to his same old boring life. The story is told through 14 original songs influenced by 60s Brit rock, with Conda and Wadsworth providing backup vocals. The story itself is a cry out to our inability to seek out significance in our lives while delving deeper into meaningless and imperfect technology.

Finnerty is currently in residence at the Boot & Saddle, performing shows of his own, along with various side bands and projects, every Tuesday night in July to help raise funds for the set of shows in September.
