Get up and dance: Sonnder’s July single is here!
Philly modern rockers Sonnder are back with a new single, “I Need.” It’s the latest installment in their “single-a-month” project, which has been gaining them considerable momentum since the beginning of the year.
The track commands attention right off the bat, opening with a blasting, dancy hi-hat groove complimented by ambient keyboard and shining guitar. Ryan Weidman’s instantly recognizable voice ticks off a list of dangerous things he needs instead of love, because he’s “not ready to be anyone’s anything.”
Weidman is accompanied by the luminous voice of Keely Sibilia, who dashes in and out of Weidman’s lyrics, sometimes taking the lead and sometimes providing rich harmonies. She makes a lovely addition to the band on this track.
Sonnder released this great song at just the right time – it’s a perfect anthem for the closing months of the summer. Think the Cure meets Anthony Green – marvelous.
Track the rest of our coverage on Sonnder here, and stay tuned in the coming weeks for the band’s Key Studio Session, a MilkBoy gig and more!
