Earlier last month we at The Key shared the first single and accompanying lyric video for supergroup of sorts, EL VY (pronounced like “hell Pie” or the plural of Elvis ,according to the band’s Facebook). This week the band, consisting of Matt Berninger of The National and Brett Knopf of Ramona Falls, released the second single off their debut album Return to the Moon.

As was the case with their first single, “Return to the Moon (Political Song for Didi Bloome to Sing, with Crescendo)”,  “I’m the Man to Be” sees front man Berninger performing in a style very different from his day job with The National. Berninger trades in the somber tone and dark lyrics and replaces them with absurdist humor backed by some truly funky instrumentation courtesy of Knopf. Return to the Moon is set to be released October 30 and the duo will make a stop at Union Transfer on November 10. Tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
