Hardwork Movement is an indie hip-hop group from Philadelphia that has been making music together for three years. The four-piece, made up of Sterling Duns, Jeremy Andrew Keys, RB Ricks, and Rick Banks, released a brand new single today, called “Shine.” Sterling, RB, and Rick attended Friends Central together, and Jeremy met and became friends with Sterling when the two of them attended Dickinson College. Hardwork Movement proves that friendship creates the flow; the listener can feel the chemistry among the four in “Shine,” each member finishing up their respective verse and tossing it immediately over to the next. The flow doesn’t stop at all in the minute-and-a-half track.
“Shine” is the first track off of Hardwork Movement’s upcoming album, set to be released in early November. The group strives to create something unique and exciting. As Jeremy puts it, “We all come from different walks of life and diverse tastes. You’re just as likely to catch us listening to Tribe Called Quest and Frank Ocean as The Strokes or Lianne La Havas. We want to incorporate that diversity into our music while also talking about things that people can relate to.”
Listen to the “Shine” below, and keeps your ears open for more tracks from Hardwork Movement.
