Philly’s next generation of bands will square off at Rock On Philly’s Battle of the College Bands
From Alex G to Modern Baseball, some of Philadelphia’s most prominent musicians first garnered critical acclaim during their college years. For four local groups – Andorra, INDIGOLD, Baby Blitz, and Distressor – this Friday’s Battle of the College Bands is an opportunity to get noticed in the ever-expanding Philly music scene.
The four bands cover a wide range of genres, from INDIGOLD’s modern hip-hop/soul fusion to Andorra’s 90s fueled garage rock, as well as a range of experiences. Some have released several albums, while others have yet to release their first EP. All are vying for the grand prize, a juicy package that includes free recording time in a local studio.
The concert is this Friday at 7:30 PM at the Hard Rock Cafe.Tickets will run you $3 beforehand, or $5 at the door.
