Tonight wraps up the year long Zydeco Crossroads project, showcasing the amazing traditional and modern day Creole music and culture, based in Southwest Louisiana. Three incredible zydeco artists will be on stage tonight at World Cafe Live, including Corey Ledet, Rosie Ledet, and Wayne Singleton.

The Zydeco Crossroads project began in Lafayette, Louisiana last October with a week long visit that included a live concert from the Blue Moon Saloon with Creole United, the filming of a Zydeco Crossroads documentary directed and produced by Robert Mugge at the legendary El Sido’s, and interviews with Chubby Carrier, Buckwheat Zydeco, Sid Williams, members of Soul Creole and Creole United, Sean Ardoin, Andre Thierry, Rosie Ledet, Corey Ledet, Nathan of Nathan and The Zydeco Cha Chas, Rockin’ Dopsie Jr., Curley Taylor, and others.

Other contributors to the Zydeco Crossroads project which includes a robust web site included Herman Fuselier of KRVS, the host of the project’s Zydeco Crossroad radio show and contributing writer to the web site, essays by music executive Scott Billington, author Michael Tisserand, music critic, musician and folklorist Ben Sandmel, and Nick Spitzer, host of American Routes. Our partners for the program include Allons Danser and WURD. Zydeco Crossroads has been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, and Lafayette Tourism.

Day two of the Zydeco Crossroads includes the premiere of the Zydeco Crossroads documentary and a panel discussion, and the concert this evening at World Cafe Live. The show this evening will be broadcast live on WXPN and webcast on VuHaus. Check out the schedule below.
